How long did it take you to land your first contract?

Took me three months of solid applications before I got my first bite. Felt like forever at the time. Agencies kept telling me I needed more experience but wouldn't give me the chance to get it.

Eventually got in through a direct referral from a former colleague. That taught me early on that who you know matters as much as what you know in this game.

How did you land yours?

Three months for me too. First one came through a former colleague — funny how it always does. The agencies were useless until I already had experience, then suddenly they were all very interested.
