The rules of engagement in a world where telling the truth can cost you your livelihood.
Consultants live in the shadows of other people’s companies. We see the politics, the incompetence, the chaos, the brilliance, the disasters — all of it. But we rarely speak openly, because the moment you criticise a client, a manager, or a project, the consequences can be swift and unpleasant.
That’s why this platform exists. To give consultants a place to tell the truth without fear. Here’s how we protect you — and how you protect yourself.
Why Anonymity Matters
In the corporate world, freedom of speech is often a slogan, not a reality. Companies talk about “transparency” and “open culture,” but the moment you say something they don’t like, the shutters come down.
We’ve all seen it:
- HR departments acting like enforcers
- Managers who can’t handle criticism
- Colleagues whispering in corridors
- Careers damaged by honest feedback
Glassdoor has been legally compelled by US courts to hand over the identities of people who posted negative reviews. Their anonymity wasn’t as robust as it appeared. Whistleblower protections look good on paper. In practice, you can’t trust them. That’s why anonymity isn’t optional — it’s essential.
Why This Platform Is Different
Most review sites operate under UK, EU, or US law. That means:
- Companies can demand user identities
- Hosts can be pressured to remove content
- Legal threats can silence honest reviews
We don’t play that game
This platform is hosted in a jurisdiction with strong privacy laws and robust free speech protections. We are not subject to UK, EU, or US takedown culture. What this means for you:
- We collect the absolute minimum information
- We don’t track you
- We don’t profile you
- We don’t analyse your behaviour
- We don’t care who you are — only what you’ve experienced
- We only require a username and an email address
- If someone wants your identity, they’ll need to convince a judge in a country that doesn’t hand out court orders like sweets.
Good luck to them.
That’s it. No real name. No phone number. No employer details. No personal data we don’t absolutely need. We’re not here to harvest your information. We’re here to protect your voice.
How to Stay Anonymous (Your Responsibility)
Even with strong privacy protections, you can still accidentally reveal yourself. Here’s how to avoid that.
- Do NOT use client equipment
No client laptops. No client phones. No client Wi Fi if you can avoid it. Assume everything they own is monitored. - Be careful in small teams
If only six people worked on the project, and one of them posts a review mentioning “the leaking pipe bridge,” it won’t take Sherlock Holmes to figure it out. - Watch your writing style
People recognise tone, phrasing, and pet expressions. If you’re known for certain turns of phrase, avoid them. - Avoid overly specific details
Dates, niche incidents, and unique events can identify you. - Use a VPN
Not because you’re paranoid — because you’re sensible. - Use a privacy focused email provider
ProtonMail or similar. Not your personal Gmail. Definitely not your client email. - Consider timing
Posting while still on the contract is riskier. If you can wait, do. If you can’t, be extra careful.
Freedom of Speech — The Real Version
Freedom of speech is often treated like a decorative slogan. Companies love to say they support it — until someone uses it.
We take a different view:
- You have the right to speak the truth about your working life without being censored, punished, sued or hunted down.
- That doesn’t mean everything posted here will be polite. Some content may be blunt, uncomfortable, or offensive to delicate corporate sensibilities.
That’s the price of honesty. That’s the price of democracy. And we’re willing to pay it.
The Bottom Line
This platform exists for one reason:
– To give consultants a safe place to tell the truth.
You won’t be censored. You won’t be profiled. You won’t be tracked. You won’t be sued. You won’t be handed over to a company that doesn’t like what you said.
We protect your identity. You protect your wording. Together, we protect the truth.
